CompTIA Security+ exam has changed!

On May 2011, CompTIA released the new version of their Security+ Exam, SYO-301. So what if you was a student studying the previous exam, SYO-201?  For a short period students will be able to take either exam. Exam SYO-201 will be available until December 2011. In any case you will have to re-certify every 3 years.

The CompTIA website states that, “effective January 1, 2011, all new CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+ and CompTIA Security+ certifications will be valid for three years from the date the candidate is certified."

"After three years, the certification must be renewed. This can be done by passing the most current exam for a respective certification or by participating in CompTIA’s new continuing education program, which will allow individuals to keep their skills current and their certification up to date without retesting.”
